Designing and Developing Mobile Based Instruction: A designer\u2019s perspective<\/h3>\n

Mobile devices are increasingly being used in classrooms
\nand corporations as a means to deliver instructional
\ncontent. Currently, there is limited research on how to best
\ndesign and develop mobile based instruction. As a result,
\nthe purpose of this research study was to examine
\nstudents\u2019 perceptions of designing and developing mobile based
\ninstruction by a) interviewing instructional design
\ngraduate students in a computer based instruction course
\nwho were given the opportunity to construct mobile-based
\ninstruction and b) surveying instructional design graduate
\nstudents to uncover their perceptions of mobile instruction
\ndesign, usability, and delivery. Results of the survey and
\nqualitative data analysis indicated that usability was a key
\nissue on the mobile device. Users enjoyed quick access,
\ngood organization, user control, single column layouts, and
\nlarge links\/buttons. These findings contribute to the
\nliterature base on the design and development of mobile
